is it important to remember our history

In today's society knowing our history is a big part of who we are. For hundreds of years we have been finding more and more out about who we are and where we came from. Although in the world of Taris remembering their history or even questioning it is an offence. Are they right, Is it worth remembering our history? or is it something more in depth ?

In the world of Juno of  Taris their government had chosen not to speak of  their history. I personally think that there is one big problem with this. Imagine never knowing what had had happend before you were born. So if we never regain our history that means that for every generation to come we will be completely restarting what we know. Us as homo sapiens would never develop, thus we would be in the stone age forever !!!

Was Hilto right? Or did Juno have the right to know the past? In a dieing world, maybe not telling the next generation about their forgettable history they had created on earth was the right choice. A new start is a common thing for people to do. But completely banning all talk of it? Not knowing your roots can lose people in a world of confusion and a loss of purpose. Motivation, purpose and mastering. Envision living in the world of Taris and I asked you "what's your purpose" Do you think you could answer that? Not remembering our history sometimes can be plausible but determined on the circumstances.

Without thinking about it you would immediately assume remembering our history is vital. But after going into great depth, the circumstances of Taris were critical and choosing to forget their history subjectively could have been the right choice. As a result remembering our history is not set in stone and  both sides come with great disadvantages
